Josh Collmenter threw eight strong innings to win for the first time in seven starts, and the Arizona Diamondbacks shut out the visiting Milwaukee Brewers 3-0 on Monday.
Collmenter (5-5) gave up eight hits with no walks while striking out seven over eight innings in his longest career outing for the Diamondbacks, who won their third straight.
David Hernandez worked a perfect ninth to collect his ninth save.
Ryan Roberts blasted a two-run homer in the sixth off Randy Wolf (6-7), who allowed eight hits and walked one over 7 1/3 innings.
Collmenter, who threw six shutout innings at Milwaukee in his last start before the All-Star break, retired 21 of the final 22 batters he faced.
Milwaukee third baseman Ryan Braun missed his second straight game with a leg injury, but he’s expected to avoid the disabled list.
