Justin Upton, Miguel Montero and Kelly Johnson homered and Ian Kennedy threw seven scoreless innings to lead the Arizona Diamondbacks to a 4-0 win over the visiting Milwaukee Brewers on Thursday.
Kennedy (11-3) won his third consecutive start while giving up four hits with five strikeouts. David Hernandez worked a scoreless ninth inning for his 10th save of the season.
Upton and Montero each homered in the fourth inning off Brewers starter Zach Greinke (7-4), who allowed two runs on five hits while striking out seven over seven innings.
Johnson added two insurance runs with his 17th home run in the eighth inning off LaTroy Hawkins. Arizona and Milwaukee split the four-game series, with the Diamondbacks recording two shutout wins.
Milwaukee’s Prince Fielder went 0-for-4 and finished 1-for-16 for the series.
