Padres 2, Reds 1

Everth Cabrera singled in the winning run in the bottom of the ninth to give host San Diego its first six-game winning streak in more than two years.

Logan Forsythe hit a tying pinch-hit home run in the eighth off Sean Marshall before the Padres rallied in the ninth to send Cincinnati to its third consecutive loss.

Cabrera drilled the first pitch he saw from Sam LeCure to deliver the deciding run after the San Diego had loaded the bases against Logan Ondrusek with no outs.

Huston Street (2-0) earned the win with one inning of relief while Ondrusek (3-2) took the loss following a stirring duel between Mat Latos and Edinson Volquez, who were traded for one another in the offseason.

Yasmani Grandal, who was part of that deal, led off the ninth with a double off Ondrusek, who intentionally walked Yonder Alonso before Cameron Maybin reached on a bunt single to set up Cabrera's heroics.

Volquez struck out a season-high 10 and allowed one run on five hits in seven innings. Latos struck out eight and gave up four hits in seven scoreless innings.

Cincinnati, which has scored three runs in its three-game skid, got on the board in the second inning on Chris Heisey's one-out triple to center that plated Jay Bruce.
