Bronson Arroyo threw a complete-game shutout and visiting Cincinnati hit three home runs to snap San Diego's six-game winning streak.

Arroyo (4-5) gave up three hits with one walk and eight strikeouts on 110 pitches to beat San Diego for the first time since 2008.

Zack Cozart led off the game with a home run off Kip Wells (1-2), who gave up three runs over six-plus innings.

Ryan Hanigan knocked Wells out of the game in the seventh when he hit a two-run homer after Todd Frazier walked to open the inning.

Frazier added to the Reds’ lead in the eighth with a two-run shot off Miles Mikolas, and Joey Votto capped Cincinnati’s scoring with an RBI double in the ninth.

Cincinnati had 12 hits after managing only three runs and 16 hits during its last three games. Drew Stubbs doubled in the ninth inning, ending an 0-for-32 slump.

GAME NOTEBOOK: San Diego’s winning streak was its longest since an eight-game run April 16-24, 2010. … Wells was facing the Reds for the first time since they released him in April 2010. …Padres 3B Chase Headley singled in the ninth inning to extend his hitting streak to 11 games.... Arroyo's complete game was the 13th of his career and the first since last September against Houston.
