Padres 3, Diamondbacks 2 (11)

Alexi Amarista ripped an RBI single in the 11th inning as host San Diego claimed three of four against its National League West rival.

After four relievers combined to strike out seven without permitting a hit in 3 1/3 scoreless innings, Josh Collmenter (5-5) worked a spotless 10th before Tommy Medica singled to lead off the 11th. Pinch hitter Jesus Guzman's ground-rule double advanced Medica to third before Amarista slapped a 2-2 changeup into center field to end the contest.

Nick Vincent (6-3) struck out three without allowing a hit in two scoreless innings to pick up the win. San Diego relievers struck out five in four spotless frames.

Jedd Gyorko opened the scoring with an RBI single in the third inning and came around to score on Chase Headley's double. Rookie Robbie Erlin allowed two runs in seven solid frames in a no-decision for the Padres, who improved to 8-2 at home versus the Diamondbacks.

Martin Prado went deep for the first time since Aug. 24 when he belted a two-run homer in the fourth. Paul Goldschmidt singled to lead off the inning to extend his hitting streak to 16 games for the Diamondbacks, who went 3-4 on their seven-game road trip.
