Giants 5, Braves 1

Brandon Belt, Pablo Sandoval and Marco Scutaro homered and Tim Lincecum tossed seven shutout innings as San Francisco blanked visiting Atlanta.

Lincecum (3-2) allowed two hits while striking out seven and snapped a four-start losing streak against the Braves. After dropping the series opener, San Francisco won the next three games by a combined score of 23-4.

Belt hit a solo blast in the second off Kris Medlen (1-5), who was charged with five runs (three earned) with five walks over 5 1/3 innings. Medlen allowed three home runs in a game for the first time since June 8, 2010, and he’s given up six homers over his past four starts.

Sandoval’s two-out solo homer in the third splashed into McCovey Cove, and the Giants moved ahead 3-0 on Brandon Crawford’s RBI single in the fourth. San Francisco added two runs in the fifth on Scutaro’s leadoff home run and Gregor Blanco’s RBI double.

San Francisco finished its 10-game homestand at 7-3, while Atlanta was held to four hits and lost for the fourth time in its last six games. Buster Posey went 1-for-4 and has hit safely in his last 11 games against the Braves.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Scutaro is batting .479 (23-for-48) during a 12-game hitting streak. … The Giants improved to 16-4 when scoring four or more runs. … The umpires used video replay to review Scutaro’s fly ball to left field in the sixth for possible fan interference before calling it a ground-rule double.
