Mariners 12, Astros 5: Rookie Nick Franklin capped a seven-run second inning with his first career grand slam and Felix Hernandez tossed six strong innings as visiting Seattle completed a three-game sweep.

Dustin Ackley went 3-for-4 with two RBIs while rookie Brad Miller and Michael Saunders also drove in two runs apiece for the Mariners, who extended their season-best winning streak to six games.

Ackley began the uprising with an RBI infield single and Henry Blanco was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded before Miller plated another run with a base hit, making it 3-0. Franklin followed by depositing a 1-1 offering from Jordan Lyles (4-4) over the right-field wall for his seventh blast of the season.

Hernandez (11-4) yielded four singles and a walk while striking out seven en route to his sixth consecutive victory. The 27-year-old ace, who has gone 16 innings without allowing a run, has worked 12 scoreless frames in winning both starts against Houston this year.

Jose Altuve had two hits and an RBI and Jake Elmore added two hits and two runs scored for the Astros, who have lost nine of 10 at home and eight of nine overall. Lyles surrendered 10 runs - nine earned - and eight hits in four-plus innings as he fell to 0-3 over his last five starts.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Ackley has registered three three-hit performances this season - all against the Astros. ... Seattle has scored at least four runs in each game during its winning streak, reaching double digits twice. ... The Mariners have won three straight road series for the first time since 2009.
