Brandon Workman waited through a pair of rain delays and dominated over 6 2/3 innings to outduel Chris Tillman as visiting Boston evened the series with Baltimore at one game apiece.

Workman (1-0) took a no-hitter into the sixth inning and ended up allowing one single and walking one to earn his first win. Mike Napoli drove in the lone run and Brock Holt recorded a pair of hits and scored a run for the Red Sox, who won for just the second time in eight games.

Tillman (5-3) allowed one run on seven hits and three walks for the Orioles in a contest that twice was stopped due to rain in the first two innings, with the second delay going well over an hour. Ryan Flaherty broke up Workman’s no-hit bid with a two-out single in the sixth for Baltimore.

Holt singled to center leading off the third and moved up on a walk before Napoli ripped a two-out single to right to put Boston on top. The Red Sox loaded the bases with no outs in the fourth but Tillman struck out Holt and got Xander Bogaerts to ground into a double play to keep it a one-run deficit.

Nelson Cruz was the was the first baserunner for the Orioles after drawing a one-out walk in the fifth but was doubled off on a pop out as Workman faced the minimum through 5 2/3 frames. Andrew Miller got the final out of the seventh and Junichi Tazawa worked a scoreless eighth before Koji Uehara took care of the ninth for his 13th save.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Orioles 3B Manny Machado was suspended five games by Major League Baseball for throwing his bat in a game against the Oakland Athletics on Sunday.
