Orioles 6, Red Sox 0
Wei-Yin Chen struck out a season-high seven in as many innings as Baltimore took the rubber match of a three-game set from slumping Boston.
Chris Davis smacked a two-run homer and Adam Jones doubled in a run for the Orioles, who held the Red Sox to a total of one run in the series. Chen (7-2) scattered four hits and did not allow a runner past second base in a dominating effort.
Rubby De La Rosa (1-2) battled through 5 2/3 frames and was charged with four runs on seven hits while striking out seven. Dustin Pedroia recorded two of the four hits managed by Boston, which has dropped seven of nine.
The Orioles took charge in the bottom of the first when Jones followed a walk with his RBI double and Davis sent a 1-1 changeup into the front row in right to make it 3-0. Nick Hundley made it a four-run gap with an RBI single to right in the fourth.
Pedroia recorded the first hit for the Red Sox with two outs in the fourth but was thrown out trying to stretch it to a double by right fielder Nick Markakis. Chen ended the fifth, sixth and seventh by inducing a double play as Boston went down weakly, and Baltimore added two more runs in the eighth when the game resumed following a one-hour, 38-minute rain delay.
