Rockies 6, Diamondbacks 4

PHOENIX -- Colorado shortstop Troy Tulowitzki extended his hitting streak to 18 games with a three-run homer in the first inning and Carlos Gonzalez added a two-run homer in the Rockies' 6-4 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks at Chase Field on Sunday.

Tulowitzki's homer was the third of six straight Colorado hits to open the game against right-hander Rubby De La Rosa, who also surrendered Gonzalez's homer in the sixth inning.

Rockies left-hander Jorge De La Rosa (6-3) gave up two runs and five hits in six innings for his first victory in 10 career starts at Chase Field.

Gonzalez had three hits and Tulowitkzi had two as the Rockies (35-47) salvaged the final game of a four-game series while winning for the second time in nine games.

Right fielder Yasmany Tomas drove in three runs with his fifth homer, a single and a sacrifice fly as Arizona (40-42) was unsuccessful in its 13th attempt to reach .500 for the first time since April 24, when it was 8-8. The Diamondbacks had won three in a row and five of their last seven.

Arizona first baseman Paul Goldschmidt had an RBI double and shortstop Nick Ahmed had three hits.

Right-hander John Axford pitched around two one-out singles in the ninth, striking out Goldschmidt to end the game for his 14th save.

Center fielder Charlie Blackmon and second baseman DJ LeMahieu singled to open the first inning before Tulowitzki hit his ninth homer of the season, also extending his streak of reaching base safely to 33 straight games.

Gonzalez, catcher Michael McKenry and first baseman Ben Paulsen followed with singles for a 4-0 lead before Rubby De La Rosa got a double play, the first of 14 straight he retired.

Tomas led off the second with his fifth homer of the season, and a walk and David Peralta's double put runners on second and third with one out before the game was stopped for nine minutes when home plate umpire Fieldin Culbreth asked for medical assistance. Culbreth left the field accompanied by a member of the Arizona training staff, and the game continued with a three-man crew.

Jorge De La Rosa got out of the inning with two ground balls.

Tulowitski singled to open the sixth inning before Gonzalez hit his 11th homer for a 6-1 lead.

Rubby De La Rosa (6-4) gave up six runs and eight hits in five-plus innings. He had given up four earned runs in his last four starts covering 27 2-3 innings.
