Diamondbacks 3, Rockies 1

PHOENIX -- Arizona left fielder David Peralta had two hits and an RBI and catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia singled in the go-ahead run in the sixth inning of the Diamondbacks' 3-1 victory over the Colorado Rockies on Wednesday at Chase Field.

First baseman Paul Goldschmidt doubled to open the sixth before Peralta walked and Saltalamacchia singled off right-hander Chad Bettis (8-6) to break a tie at 1.

Second baseman Phil Gosselin singled and scored on Peralta's sacrifice fly in the seventh inning.

Gosselin, who also had two hits, had a sacrifice fly in the fifth inning.

First baseman Justin Morneau tripled and scored in the second inning and third baseman Nolan Arenado had two of Colorado's five hits.

Right-hander Randall Delgado (8-4) retired the only batter he faced in the sixth inning for his second victory in as many games.

Daniel Hudson pitched the ninth for his fourth save as closer Brad Ziegler remained away from the team to be with his wife following the birth of their child Monday night.

The D-backs (77-81) have won four of their last five and clinched third place in the NL West when San Diego lost.

Colorado (66-92) has won three of five.

Morneau tripled with one out in the second inning and scored on second baseman DJ LeMahieu's sacrifice fly to medium-deep center field. Morneau scored without a play when A.J. Pollock's throw sailed over Saltalamacchia.

Arizona loaded the bases in the second inning on Peralta's double and two two-out walks before Bettis got right-hander Chase Anderson to ground out to end the inning.

Diamondbacks second baseman Phil Gosselin tripled with one out in the third inning, but Bettis struck out the next two.

Anderson gave up one run and four hits in 5 1/3 innings during his last scheduled start of the season.
