Right fielder Marlon Byrd had two of the Giants' five hits.

The Giants loaded the bases in the seventh inning, the last runner coming when pinch-hitter Buster Posey was intentionally walked with runners on first and third and two outs, before Randall Delgado got Angel Pagan to pop out.
Left fielder David Peralta doubled with one out in the fourth inning before Saltalamacchia hit his seventh homer of the season, his sixth with Arizona, to deep center field for a 2-0 lead.
San Francisco got one run back in the sixth inning. Godley hit pinch-hitter Alejandro De Aza to open the inning and was replaced by left-hander Andrew Chafin.
Center fielder Angel Pagan walked, and the runners moved up on a groundout before Pagan scored on Chafin's wild pitch. Chafin got out of the inning on a groundout and fly ball to leave the tying run on third.
Giants rookie right-hander Chris Heston gave up two runs in 4 2/3 innings, with five strikeouts and two walks. Heston beat Arizona here April 8, for his first victory in his first major league start.
