Brewers 6, Dodgers 3
MILWAUKEE -- Wily Peralta worked seven innings and Scooter Gennett and Adam Lind hit two-run home runs to lead the Milwaukee Brewers to a 6-3 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday night at Miller Park.
Peralta (1-4) went eight innings and didn't walk a batter while scattering seven hits. He struck out six in his longest outing since May 2, 2014, when he went eight innings at Cincinnati.
The only blemishes on Peralta's line were a pair of solo home runs by Dodgers center fielder Joc Pederson, who also robbed Peralta of a would-be home run in the sixth.
Pederson's last seven hits have all been home runs, but they weren't enough Wednesday to dig the Dodgers out of an early deficit.
Right-hander Francisco Rodriguez worked around first baseman Adrian Gonzalez's leadoff double to earn his sixth save of the season.
Dodgers right-hander Joe Wieland had a tough go of things in his first start this season, allowing seven runs on six hits and four walks in 4 2/3 innings.
The Brewers jumped on Wieland early, tagging him for five runs in the first inning.
Center fielder Carlos Gomez's leadoff walk got things started and Gennett followed with his first home run of the season. Wieland followed by walking Braun, and Lind made him pay with his fifth homer of the year.
Milwaukee got one more run in the inning when catcher Martin Maldonado drove in shortstop Jean Segura.
The Dodgers got one back in the fourth when third baseman Justin Turner scored on an error by Segura.
Center fielder Joc Pederson made it a 5-2 game with a one-out home run in the fifth.
Wieland settled down after his rough first inning but ran into trouble again in the fifth, giving way after a two-out double by Lind and intentional walk to third baseman Aramis Ramirez. Lind scored when reliever Sergio Santos walked Segura.
