Tigers at White Sox
The
Detroit Tigers cannot seem to gain any momentum moving forward. After
salvaging a split of a four-game series in Oakland over the weekend, the
Tigers surrendered a three-run lead at the Chicago White Sox and
dropped a 7-5 decision Monday. Detroit has not won back-to-back games
since a four-game streak from April 15-18 and is 8-15 over the last 23
games. The White Sox will be looking to secure a winning homestand in
Tuesday’s finale of the two-game series.
Chicago got a home run
and four RBIs on Monday from Dayan Viciedo, who had not recorded an RBI
in the previous 11 games. The Cuban slugger was dropped to eighth in the
order and benefited Monday from having Alexei Ramirez on base in front
of him three times. Detroit has had trouble getting the hitting and the
pitching on the same page, and Monday failed to score in the final six
innings against Chicago’s bullpen.
