White Sox 5, Mariners 1
Carlos Quentin hit a two-run homer to key a four-run third inning and Philip Humber got the best of Felix Hernandez as the Chicago White Sox posted a 5-1 win over the visiting Seattle Mariners on Tuesday night.
Humber (5-3) scattered five hits and three walks over 7 2/3 innings while striking out five.
Paul Konerko got the White Sox on the board first with a second-inning solo home run against Hernandez (6-5). Chicago added four more runs in the third when Omar Vizquel smacked a two-run triple into right field and came in on a homer to left by Quentin.
Seattle scored its lone run on a sacrifice fly by Miguel Olivo in the fourth inning.
Hernandez worked 6 2/3 innings, allowing five runs on eight hits. He struck out five and walked two.
