Curtis Granderson ripped a two-run double to highlight a four-run fourth inning and Phil Hughes recorded his first win of the season as the New York Yankees posted a 7-2 road triumph over the Toronto Blue Jays on Sunday.
Brett Gardner collected his third three-hit game in the four-game series and also scored three times for New York, which salvaged the final two contests of the set.
Plagued by arm troubles to begin the season, Hughes (1-2) secured his first victory by allowing two runs on four hits in six innings.
Nick Swisher had two hits and joined Russell Martin by both driving in and scoring a run for the Yankees.
Travis Snider had an RBI single and Edwin Encarnacion scored twice for Toronto.
Carlos Villanueva (5-2) surrendered five runs on eight hits in six innings to take the loss.
