Phillies 4, Braves 2
Raul Ibanez singled in the go-ahead run in the sixth inning as the visiting Philadelphia Phillies won their 100th game and kept the Atlanta Braves from increasing their National League wild card lead with a 4-2 victory Monday.
The Braves maintained their one-game advantage over the St. Louis Cardinals, who lost at Houston 5-4 in 10 innings Monday. Both teams have two games left.
Ibanez popped out with the bases loaded to short-circuit a rally in the third, but greeted left-handed reliever Eric O’Flaherty in the sixth with a hit into right field that scored Shane Victorino and gave the Phillies the lead for good. Ibanez drove in Victorino with an insurance run in the eighth.
Cliff Lee (17-8), allowed two runs in six innings and evened his record against the Braves this season at 2-2. Ryan Madson pitched a scoreless ninth and earned his 32nd save, striking out two of three batters after allowing a leadoff double to Dan Uggla.
Cristhian Martinez (1-3) allowed one hit and one run in one-third of an inning as the bullpen wasted a strong effort by rookie Randall Delgado, who gave up two runs in five innings.
