Phillies 5, Rockies 0
Ryan Howard belted a pair of homers and Kyle Kendrick scattered four hits over eight innings as the Philadelphia Phillies cruised to a 5-0 victory over the host Colorado Rockies on Tuesday.
Hunter Pence doubled twice and drove in a run for Philadelphia, which has won five in a row and claimed its sixth straight road series.
With the Phillies holding a 2-0 lead in the fourth, Howard launched a 443-foot homer to right-center field. He capped the scoring in the eighth with an opposite-field shot for his team-leading 23rd of the season.
The offensive outburst was more than enough for Kendrick (6-5), who struck out a season-high seven to improve to 3-2 in his career against the Rockies.
Aaron Cook (2-6) dropped to 1-7 versus the Phillies after permitting four runs on five hits in four innings. He left the game with neck spasms.
Colorado has dropped seven of its last 10 games.
