Brewers 8, Rockies 7
Rickie Weeks hit a two-run homer in the top of the ninth inning to lift the Milwaukee Brewers to a wild 8-7 victory over the host Colorado Rockies on Saturday night.
Corey Hart added a two-run blast and George Kottaras drove in the tying run with a groundout in the eighth for the Brewers, who lost All-Star Ryan Braun in the sixth with tightness in his left hamstring and calf.
Huston Street (0-3) came in for the Rockies and got two quick outs before walking Prince Fielder. Weeks, who was moved down to fifth in the lineup for the first time this season, made the move look good when he blasted an 0-1 offering from Street over the wall in center.
Francisco Rodriguez (3-2) made his debut for Milwaukee with a perfect eighth to grab the win and John Axford picked up his 24th save despite allowing a run in the ninth.
Todd Helton, whose error allowed the go-ahead run to score in the seventh, redeemed himself in the bottom half with a two-run double to make it 5-5. Troy Tulowitzki followed and drove Helton home with a single to briefly put Colorado back on top.
Rockies manager Jim Tracy and catcher Chris Iannetta were ejected for arguing a play at the plate in the seventh.
