Troy Tulowitzki homered and had three hits to help the Colorado Rockies snap a four-game losing streak with a 6-3 victory over the visiting Washington Nationals in the opener of a four-game series Thursday night.

Rockies starter Esmil Rogers (5-1) allowed one run on seven hits in 5 2/3 innings in his first start since April 25.

Ty Wigginton, Eric Young and Chris Nelson added RBI singles for the Rockies, who avoided their first five-game home losing streak since May 2009.

Ross Detwiler (1-1), who was making just his second start of the year, surrendered two runs on five hits in five innings.

Washington's Ryan Zimmerman had three hits, including a two-run double in the ninth inning, to extend his hitting streak to 13 games.
