Rockies 15, Nationals 7
Dexter Fowler drove in four runs and Troy Tulowitzki finished 3-for-3 with three RBIs as the Colorado Rockies totaled 19 hits en route to a 15-7 rout of the visiting Washington Nationals on Saturday.
Chris Iannetta homered among four hits and Eric Young Jr. added an RBI and scored three runs for the Rockies, who won for only the second time in the last seven games.
Colorado pitcher Juan Nicasio, who was hit with a line drive Friday night, had neck surgery Saturday morning to stabilize a fractured vertebra and remains in serious but stable condition.
Nicasio’s teammates gave him something to cheer about when they pounded veteran Livan Hernandez (6-11). The Rockies rallied for four runs in the third and five more in the fourth to grab a 9-2 lead.
Fowler tripled in two runs in the third, and Ty Wigginton and Iannetta each hit solo homers in the fourth.
Jhoulys Chacin (9-8) hung around through five innings to earn the win.
Colorado's Carlos Gonzalez was activated from the disabled list, and chipped in two hits, two runs scored and an RBI.
Michael Morse had four hits and drove in three for the Nationals.
