Denard Span recorded three hits, including a go-ahead RBI double in the 10th inning, as visiting Washington salvaged the finale of the three-game series.

Wilson Ramos followed with an RBI single off Steve Cishek (3-5) and Chad Tracy added a run-scoring double to give the Nationals a 5-2 lead. Craig Stammen (5-4) pitched a perfect ninth for the victory and Rafael Soriano worked around a double by Juan Pierre in the 10th for his 25th save.

Derek Dietrich belted a two-run homer while Adeiny Hechavarria, Jeff Mathis and Marcell Ozuna recorded two hits apiece for the Marlins, whose three-game winning streak ended. Anthony Rendon had a pair of hits and an RBI for Washington, which improved to 6-3 against Miami.

Adam LaRoche led off the second with a single and scored on Span’s two-out double into the gap in right-center as the Nationals took a 1-0 lead. Ozuna singled to open the fourth and trotted home when Dietrich drilled an 0-1 pitch over the right-field fence to put the Marlins in front.

Bryce Harper drew a two-out walk and scored on Rendon’s double against starter Henderson Alvarez, who gave up two runs on nine hits over 6 2/3 innings. Washington relievers struck out five and allowed only three hits over four scoreless innings.
