Kendrys Morales singled in the tiebreaking run against his former club in the 10th inning as visiting Seattle slipped past Los Angeles in the second contest of a four-game series.
Kyle Seager blistered a two-out double down the right-field line off Garrett Richards (2-4) before Morales hit a liner that caromed off the glove of shortstop Erick Aybar and into shallow left-center field, easily scoring Seager.
Charlie Furbush (1-3) struck out Josh Hamilton with two on and two out in the ninth and Yoervis Medina pitched a perfect 10th for his first major-league save. The victory was Seattle’s first in four games in Anaheim this season.
Raul Ibanez and Justin Smoak hit back-to-back homers to right field in the second inning to give Seattle a 2-0 lead. Mark Trumbo smacked the first pitch of the bottom half over the wall in left-center to halve the deficit, and Albert Pujols led off the eighth with a game-tying shot to left off Tom Wilhelmsen.
Angels starter Joe Blanton matched his career high with 11 strikeouts while giving up two runs and six hits in 6 2/3 innings. Seattle’s Jeremy Bonderman allowed one run and six hits in six frames.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Smoak (oblique) was activated from the disabled list prior to the game and INF Alex Liddi was optioned to Triple-A Tacoma. … Hamilton hit into three double plays and struck out twice in going 0-for-5. … Seattle OFs Jason Bay (hamstring) and Michael Morse (quadriceps) sat out with injuries.
