Mariners 6, Angels 0: Felix Hernandez tossed eight stellar innings and Justin Smoak homered and drove in four runs as host Seattle put itself in position to sweep the three-game series.

Hernandez (10-4) dominated an Angels team that has given him trouble his entire career, limiting Los Angeles to six singles and a triple while striking out four without issuing a walk. The former Cy Young Award winner, who has won five straight decisions, improved to 8-12 lifetime against the Angels.

Smoak was the offensive star, opening the scoring in the fourth inning with an RBI single and belting a three-run homer in the sixth to make it 4-0. The blast extended Seattle's franchise record to 21 consecutive games with a home run.

Raul Ibanez went 2-for-4 with an RBI single while Kendrys Morales, Kyle Seager and Michael Saunders also had two hits apiece for the Mariners, who lost three straight before capturing the first two games of this series.

Jered Weaver (3-5) lasted 5 2/3 innings as he surrendered four runs and nine hits. Howie Kendrick and Alberto Callaspo each recorded two hits for the Angels, who fell for the fifth time in 16 contests.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Weaver dropped to 0-3 in five road starts this season. ... Seattle's home run streak is the longest in the American League since the Texas Rangers set the major-league record in 2002 by going deep in 27 straight games. ... Seager extended his hitting streak to 13 games with a single in the fourth inning.
