Indians 4, Royals 3
Asdrubal Cabrera hit a solo home run in the bottom of the 10th inning to lift the Cleveland Indians to a 4-3 victory over the Kansas City Royals on Saturday.
The Indians held a 3-0 lead after five but needed Cabrera to play the hero after the Royals rallied to tie the game late.
Kansas City DH Wilson Betemit hit a two-run homer in the sixth to cut the deficit to 3-2, and he tied the game with an RBI double to center in the eighth. Betemit advanced to third on a two-out single to left by Willie Bloomquist, but was stranded there as Jai Miller grounded into a fielder's choice to end the inning.
Cleveland scored a season-high 15 runs on Friday night and looked like it would be racking up the runs again in this one, racing out to a 3-0 lead after two innings.
Shin-Soo Choo made it 1-0 with an RBI groundout in the first and Michael Brantley had an RBI single and Choo drew a walk with the bases loaded in the second to make it 3-0.
Chris Perez (2-2) picked up the win, working around a walk in a scoreless 10th inning.
Jesse Chavez (2-2) was saddled with the loss. He worked a scoreless ninth before allowing the game-winning homer to Cabrera to lead off the 10th.
