Indians 3, Angels 2

Third baseman Alberto Callaspo's fielding error on Shelley Duncan's ground ball with two outs in the 11th inning gave the Cleveland Indians a 3-2 win over the Los Angeles Angels on Thursday night.

Trevor Crowe doubled with one out off Bobby Cassevah (0-1) and moved to third on Drew Sutton's groundout. Duncan, batting for Lou Marson, sent a slow chopper to the left side. Callaspo charged the ball but it slipped out of his hand as he attempted to make the throw.

Rafael Perez (4-1) pitched a scoreless inning for the win.

The Indians loaded the bases with one out in the 10th, but Jordan Brown hit into a double play.

Ervin Santana remained stuck on 16 wins, his career high for the Angels. He allowed two runs and four hits in eight innings. Santana, who is 0-6 in nine career starts against the Indians, struck out five and walked three.

Cleveland starter Fausto Carmona's streak of 22 consecutive scoreless innings ended abruptly in the seventh on solo homers by Hideki Matsui and Mike Napoli. Matsui's homer came with one out and barely cleared the wall in right. Napoli's two-out blast landed several rows into the seats in right.

Run-scoring doubles by Lou Marson and Shin-Soo Choo scored two runs in the second for the Indians.

Santana breezed through the first two innings before the Indians strung together three hits in the third. Drew Sutton led off with a single to right and scored when Marson doubled to the gap in right-center. After a sacrifice and a hit batter, Choo's blooper to left fell in fair territory.

Carmona allowed two runs and four hits in seven innings. He struck out eight and walked one.
