Rockies 1, Diamondbacks 0

Jhoulys Chacin outdueled Dan Hudson and Dexter Fowler drove in the lone run as the Colorado Rockies edged the Arizona Diamondbacks 1-0 Sunday.

Eric Young Jr. scored the only run and stole a base for the Rockies, who avoided a sweep of the three-game series.

Chacin (6-9) allowed three hits in eight innings, walking one and striking out nine. The 22-year-old right-hander picked up his first win since July second by pounding the strike zone and keeping the ball on the ground, inducing nine groundouts to four flyouts.

Hudson was nearly as impressive, yielding four hits and striking out nine in seven scoreless frames. The Diamondbacks bullpen wasn't as sharp, with Aaron Heilman (4-5) coming on and allowing a one-out single to Young in the eighth. Young stole second and came in to score when Fowler sent a single into center field.

Joe Beimel got the final out of the eighth and Huston Street bounced back from a blown save in the first game of the series with a strong ninth inning for his 10th save.
