Cubs 2, Astros 0
Rookie Casey Coleman fired seven scoreless innings as the Chicago Cubs downed the Houston Astros 2-0 on Friday night.
Coleman (4-2) gave up six hits while striking out two and walking a batter. He threw 99 pitches before turning the ball over to the bullpen.
The Cubs got on the board in the second inning when Welington Castillo doubled to left field to score Bobby Scales and Coleman added a double of his own in the fourth to bring Scales around again.
Bud Norris (9-10) struggled with his control all night, walking seven batters while giving up two runs on three hits. Hunter Pence, Geoff Blum, and Jason Michaels all had a pair of hits for the Astros, but they were 0-for-5 with runners in scoring position.
