Adrian Gonzalez hit a walk-off two-run double high off the Green Monster in left to lift the Boston Red Sox to an 8-7 win over the Baltimore Orioles at Fenway Park Monday night.
The Red Sox trailed by as much as 6-0 but scored five times in the sixth inning and one more in the seventh. Gonzalez scored both Jacoby Ellsbury and Dustin Pedroia, who had both walked as Boston won its third straight and climbed over the .500 mark for the first time all season.
Alfredo Aceves (1-0) picked up the win in relief, allowing a run in three innings. Kevin Gregg (0-1) blew the save and took the loss.
Boston starter Daisuke Matsuzaka allowed five runs, five hits and seven walks in 4 1/3 innings.
Boston combined for 15 hits in the game off seven Oriole pitchers. Gonzalez had three hits and three RBIs and five others had two hits apiece.
Mark Reynolds homered and drove in a pair of runs for Baltimore, which had its two-game winning streak snapped.
