Tigers 10, Blue Jays 5

Victor Martinez homered and drove in three runs, and Austin Jackson added four RBIs as the Detroit Tigers rode two big innings to a 10-5 victory over the host Toronto Blue Jays on Monday.

Max Scherzer (6-0) allowed two runs on five hits in five innings to join Jered Weaver and Trevor Cahill as the only six-game winners in the majors. He walked three and struck out five.

Jackson's three-run double was the big blow in a six-run fourth for Detroit, and the Tigers put it away with a four-run seventh, highlighted by Martinez' two-run homer. He finished 3-for-4 with two doubles.

The Blue Jays jumped out to a 2-0 lead against Scherzer on Jose Bautista's double in the first and Yunel Escobar's solo home run in third.

Blue Jays starter Brandon Morrow (1-2) lasted 3 1/3 innings - he allowed five runs, three hits, walked three and struck out six.

Detroit took three of four in the series and outscored the Blue Jays 24-7 over the last three games.
