Jays 4, Tigers 2

Aaron Hill drove in the go-ahead run with an RBI double in a three-run eighth inning as the Toronto Blue Jays extended their winning streak to six games with a 4-2 victory over the host Detroit Tigers on Monday night.

Kyle Drabek (3-2) allowed one run on three hits in seven innings as the Blue Jays snapped Detroit's seven-game winning streak. He walked six and struck out two.

Juan Rivera, J.P. Arencibia and Yunel Escobar each had sacrifice flies to help Toronto (21-20) climb above the .500 mark. Hill, Escobar, Jose Bautista and Edwin Encarnacion had two hits apiece for the Jays.

Joaquin Benoit (1-3) took the loss in relief of Tigers starter Max Scherzer, allowing all three runs in the eighth.

Scherzer, bidding to become the first Tigers starter to open the year 7-0 since Jeremy Bonderman opened 8-0 in 2007, gave up one unearned run on eight hits in seven innings.

Miguel Cabrera had a sacrifice fly in the first and Jhonny Peralta homered off closer Frank Francisco in the ninth and to account for Detroit's scoring. However, Rodriguez closed out Detroit for his fourth save.
