Mets 5. Dodgers 2
Carlos Beltran and Daniel Murphy had two-out doubles in a three-run sixth inning to rally the visiting New York Mets to a 5-2 victory over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday night.
The late offensive surge was enough to give New York starter Chris Capuano (8-7) his third straight win.
Capuano allowed two runs on six hits in six innings to get the win and help the Mets to their eighth win in their last 12 games.
Closer Francisco Rodriguez pitched a scoreless ninth inning to earn his 21st save.
Angel Pagan also had an RBI double in the sixth against Los Angeles starter Rubby De La Rosa (3-4).
De La Rosa pitched seven strong innings but allowed three runs on five hits to take the loss.
The Mets were able to come from behind despite the absence of shortstop Jose Reyes, who missed the game because of a hamstring injury.
