Mets 5, Dodgers 3

Ruben Tejada's two-run double capped a three-run sixth inning and the visiting New York Mets notched their fourth straight victory, 5-3 over the Los Angeles Dodgers on Wednesday night.

Jonathon Niese (8-7) went seven innings and allowed three runs on five hits to send the reeling Dodgers to their fifth consecutive defeat. Francisco Rodriguez earned his 22nd save.

Justin Turner had two hits and an RBI and Carlos Beltran extended his hitting streak to 11 games with a pair of doubles to lift the Mets (45-42) to a season-high three games over .500.

Lucas Duda and Josh Thole also had two hits apiece to help New York improve to 26-20 on the road.

Dodgers starter Hiroki Kuroda (6-10) permitted four runs on eight hits in six innings to fall to 1-5 in his career against the Mets.

Jamey Carroll had three hits and Juan Uribe drove in two runs for Los Angeles.

Tejada, playing in place of the injured Jose Reyes, gave New York a 4-1 lead with a two-out double up the gap in right-center.
