Giants 3, Phillies 1

Tim Lincecum threw 7 2/3 strong innings and the host San Francisco Giants snapped the Philadelphia Phillies’ nine-game winning streak with a 3-1 victory on Sunday.

Lincecum (10-9) helped the Giants salvage the series finale after the Phillies outscored the Giants 14-3 in the first three games. Lincecum gave up one run on seven hits while striking out five.

Brian Wilson earned his 34th save on seven pitches in the ninth inning for the Giants, who won for just the second time in their last 10 games.

Phillies starter Roy Oswalt (4-7) gave up three runs on 12 hits over six innings in his first start since landing on the disabled list June 24 with lower back inflammation.

Chris Stewart singled home a run in the fourth inning for the Giants, who entered the game 0-for-17 with runners in scoring position in the series.
