Reds 8, Cubs 7

The visiting Reds won a classic Wrigley Field slugfest 8-7 on Sunday, ending the Cubs’ seven-game win streak.

Edgar Renteria, Drew Stubbs and Todd Frazier all went deep against Cubs starter Randy Wells before Chicago rallied for a 7-6 lead. Frazier’s RBI double tied the game in the eighth, while Ryan Hanigan’s run-scoring single proved to be the game winner.

Cincinnati's Aroldis Chapman struck out the side in the bottom of the eighth. Francisco Cordero earned his 20th save in 25 chances with a perfect ninth.

The Reds snapped a three-game skid and won for just the fifth time in 16 road games.

Blake DeWitt and Starlin Castro homered for Chicago, which played its fifth straight error-free game. Castro, the NL hits leader, extended his hitting streak to eight with a 2-for-5 day.
