Pirates 7, Cubs 5

Derrek Lee's grand slam with two outs in the top of the ninth inning led the Pittsburgh Pirates to a 7-5 victory over the Chicago Cubs on a wet Saturday afternoon at Wrigley Field.

The Pirates loaded the bases with a single and a pair of walks against closer Carlos Marmol (2-5) before Lee drove a pitch through the rain and just over the left-field wall to beat his former team.

Joel Hanrahan worked the bottom of the ninth to secure the win for Chris Resop (5-4), who pitched two innings of scoreless relief. The blown save by Marmol was his ninth of the season, tying him for the major league lead.

Chicago had taken a 5-3 lead in the seventh inning on a two-run double by Alfonso Soriano, who drove in four of the Cubs' five runs on the afternoon. The game was delayed by rain for 91 minutes shortly after Soriano's hit.

Starter Casey Coleman worked six innings for the Cubs, giving up two runs on six hits while striking out six and walking three.

Pittsburgh starter Ross Ohlendorf surrendered three runs in four-plus innings, yielding seven hits and walking two.
