Rockies 6, Padres 3

Chris Iannetta blasted a three-run homer and Juan Nicasio struck out a career-high nine to lead the Colorado Rockies to a 6-3 win over the visiting San Diego Padres on Tuesday.

Todd Helton went 2-for-5 and scored the 1,300th run of his career for the Rockies, who snapped a three-game losing streak.

Nicasio (2-1), in his fourth major league start, solidified his spot in the rotation when he allowed two runs on six hits and one walk over six innings on 108 pitches.

Minor league call-up Wade LeBlanc (0-2), who started in place of the injured Dustin Moseley, allowed three runs on seven hits over 4 2/3 innings.

The Padres loaded the bases in the seventh, but Anthony Rizzo struck out against fellow rookie Rex Brothers. San Diego has scored seven runs in its last five games.

Charlie Blackmon continued to spark the Rockies’ lineup with his fourth stolen base. The Rockies have nine stolen bases in their last five games.
