Phillies 5, Braves 4

Humberto Quintero homered and drove in three runs and Cliff Lee won his eighth consecutive decision as host Philadelphia posted its third victory in four games.

Ryan Howard also went deep and Jimmy Rollins had a pair of singles to extend his hitting streak to eight games as the Phillies bolted to a 5-0 lead. Dan Uggla's three-run homer highlighted a four-run seventh inning for Atlanta, which couldn't complete the comeback and dropped its third straight contest.

After first baseman Freddie Freeman's throwing error opened the scoring in the first inning, Quintero deposited a first-pitch cutter from Paul Maholm (9-7) just over the wall in right field in the second. The ball deflected off a fan and bounced back into the field of play, but a video review confirmed Quintero's second home run of the season.

Howard followed suit in the third by crushing a fastball 439 feet into Philadelphia's bullpen in right-center field. Quintero capped his sterling performance with an RBI double in the sixth to give the Phillies a 5-0 advantage.

Lee (10-2), who hasn't tasted defeat since May 1, breezed into the seventh before Uggla's 15th homer changed the complexion of the game. The veteran left-hander was charged with his fourth run after reliever J.C. Ramirez allowed a sacrifice fly to Andrelton Simmons before finishing off the frame. Antonio Bastardo retired the side in order in the eighth before Jonathan Papelbon worked the ninth for his 18th save.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Maholm yielded five runs - four earned - on nine hits in six innings. ... Braves C Gerald Laird and manager Fredi Gonzalez were ejected in the third inning by home plate umpire Angel Hernandez for arguing balls and strikes. ... Freeman saw his eight-game hitting streak come to an end.
