Cody Asche hit a three-run homer and Cole Hamels pitched a complete game as visiting Philadelphia won the series opener and snapped an 11-game road losing streak.

Hamels (5-13) allowed six hits and struck out nine in winning for the first time since July 9. Asche blasted his second major-league homer off Atlanta starter Julio Teheran in the sixth to give the Phillies a 4-0 advantage.

Teheran (9-6) allowed four runs on six hits in six innings, striking out six in losing for the first time since July 14. The Braves lead Washington by 14 games in the National League East.

Hamels tripled past Atlanta center fielder B.J. Upton in the third and scored the game’s first run on Jimmy Rollins’ single to right. Chase Utley led off the sixth with a single and after Teheran hit Darin Ruf with a pitch, Asche deposited a 0-1 pitch into the right-field seats.

Asche, Rollins and Utley each finished with two hits. Jason Heyward went 2-for-4 with a double and Chris Johnson doubled home a run with two outs in the ninth for the Braves, who lost for the second time in three games following a 14-game winning streak.
