White Sox 11, Tigers 4
White Sox 11, Tigers 4: Dayan Viciedo recorded his first career multi-homer game and Adam Dunn blasted a tiebreaking two-run homer in the eighth inning to lead visiting Chicago past first-place Detroit.
Jose Quintana outdueled Justin Verlander and Alex Rios went 6-for-6 to tie a franchise record for the last-place White Sox, who racked up a season-high 23 hits and snapped a four-game losing streak. Matt Tuiasosopo, Miguel Cabrera and Don Kelly all homered for the Tigers, who lost for the second time in eight games.
Quintana (4-2) struck out seven and allowed three runs over eight innings to claim his first victory since May 21 against Boston. Verlander (9-6) allowed five runs on a season-high 12 hits and didn't record an out in the eighth.
Tuiasosopo broke up the scoreless tie with a shot to left in the fifth, but Viciedo answered the next half-inning with a solo shot to tie it at 1. That's where it stood until Chicago put together its biggest inning of the season, sending 13 batters to the plate in the seven-run eighth.
Dunn's third home run in 23 at-bats against Verlander made it 3-1, and Viciedo added a two-run shot off Al Alburquerque. Rios and Dunn each added RBI singles before the damage was done.
