Cubs 4, Giants 3
Starlin Castro delivered a walk-off double as Chicago overcame a bullpen meltdown and edged visiting San Francisco.
After the Giants had taken the lead in the top half of the ninth, Sergio Romo (0-1) entered in search of his league-leading seventh save. Pinch hitter Dioner Navarro led off with a home run to right to knot it back up and David DeJesus reached on a two-out single in front of Castro, who ripped a 2-1 fastball into right to plate the game-winning run.
DeJesus and Castro each added solo home runs and Carlos Villanueva worked 7 1/3 scoreless innings for Chicago, which evened the four-game series at a game apiece. Villanueva surrendered three hits and walked one to lower his ERA to 0.64 through two starts.
The Cubs carried a 2-0 lead into the ninth but Kyuji Fujikawa (1-0) allowed a one-out double to Marco Scutaro and an RBI single to Pablo Sandoval to get the Giants on the board. The right-hander hit Buster Posey with a pitch before Brandon Belt sent a two-run double into right to put San Francisco on top.
Matt Cain was reached for two runs on seven hits in seven innings as the Giants had a four-game winning streak come to an end.
