Rangers 11, Mariners 3

Rangers 11, Mariners 3: Nelson Cruz hit his fifth career grand slam and Justin Grimm threw six solid innings as host Texas completed a three-game sweep.

Leonys Martin, Mitch Moreland and Adrian Beltre also homered for the Rangers, who outscored Seattle in the series by a whopping 23-3 margin. Grimm (1-0) gave up one earned run and six hits and struck out nine in six innings to pick up his second career victory.

Mariners starter Aaron Harang (0-2) continued a miserable history in Arlington by giving up eight runs on eight hits in 4 2/3 innings. He owns a 13.22 ERA in four career starts at Rangers Ballpark.

Harang actually had a 1-0 lead entering the third before surrendering the first home run of Martin's career, a solo shot that tied it. Moreland broke the tie with a two-run blast in the fourth and Cruz capped a five-run fifth with a 431-foot bomb to center that made it 8-2.

Kyle Seager had an RBI double in the first and a solo homer in the ninth to pace the Mariners. Martin also tripled and scored on Ian Kinsler's base hit in the fifth.

GAME NOTEBOOK: Seager's run-scoring double in the first snapped Seattle's scoreless streak at 19 innings. ... The Rangers' 12-6 start is their fifth-best after 18 games. ... Both teams continue divisional play Monday. Seattle heads to Houston and Texas visits the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.
