Stanton hits two homers as Marlins one-hit Mets

NEW YORK -- Jose Urena teamed up with three relievers on a one-hitter Sunday afternoon, when Giancarlo Stanton launched a pair of long homers as the Miami Marlins routed the New York Mets 7-0 at Citi Field.

The victory ended a three-game losing streak for the Marlins (13-17), who have won just three of their last 12 games.

The loss capped a distraction-filled day for the Mets (14-16), who scored 71 runs in their previous nine games. New York announced before the game that right-hander Matt Harvey -- Sunday's scheduled starter -- was suspended three days without pay for an unspecified violation of team rules.

Urena (1-0), making his first start of the season in place of the injured Edinson Volquez, opened with five no-hit innings before Rene Rivera led off the sixth by blooping a single just beyond third base. Urena allowed one walk and struck out two over six innings -- his longest outing since he tossed 8 2/3 innings against the Los Angeles Dodgers last Sept. 11.

David Phelps, Nick Wittgren and A.J Ramos combined to finish the Marlins' first one-hitter since May 4, 2013, when the late Jose Fernandez teamed up with Mike Dunn and Steve Cishek to one-hit the Philadelphia Phillies.

Stanton hit a three-run homer off the facade in the second deck in left field in the first inning and hit the windows on the suites in left field with a solo shot in the third. It was his 21st career multi-homer game.

Adeiny Hechavarria homered leading off the fourth, when Christian Yelich doubled with two outs, took third on an error and scored on a wild pitch. Derek Dietrich added an RBI single in the seventh and finished with three hits.

Marlins third baseman Miguel Rojas left with a sore right thumb injury after the first inning. His replacement, Martin Prado, exited in the seventh with right hamstring discomfort.

Mets left-hander Adam Wilk, who was promoted from Triple-A Las Vegas to replace Harvey, took the loss after giving up six runs (five earned) on eight hits and one walk while striking out two over 3 2/3 innings. It was his first major league appearance since April 15, 2015, and his first big-league start since April 25, 2012.

NOTES: The Mets claimed LHP Tommy Milone off waivers from the Milwaukee Brewers and transferred RHP Noah Syndergaard from the 10-day disabled list to the 60-day disabled list. ... The Marlins recalled RHP Brian Ellington from Triple-A New Orleans optioned RHP Odrisamer Despaigne to the same affiliate.
