Asdrubal Cabrera had a pair of hits and two RBIs as the visiting Cleveland Indians rallied for a 7-3 victory over the Kansas City Royals on Thursday night.
Cleveland, despite committing five errors, averted a three-game sweep by pushing across seven runs over the final two innings.
Blanked by Royals starter Kyle Davies (6-8) for seven innings, the Indians strung together seven singles in the eighth, including RBI hits from Matt LaPorta, Shelley Duncan, Shin-Soo Choo and Travis Hafner to avert a three-game sweep.
Cabrera had a game-tying sacrifice fly in the five-run eighth and added a run-scoring single in the ninth.
Rafael Perez (4-0) went 1 1/3 innings for the win for Cleveland. Blake Wood (1-3) took the loss.
Davies, who carried a four-hit shutout into the eighth, was charged with three runs on seven hits in 7 1/3 innings, striking out five and not walking a batter.
Wilson Betemit had a two-run single and Alex Gordon had three hits for Kansas City, which had its three-game winning streak snapped.
Indians starter Mitch Talbot lasted just 4 2/3 innings, allowing three runs - two earns - on eight hits while walking four and striking out two.
