Marlins 8, Nationals 2
Dan Uggla homered and drove in four runs while Hanley Ramirez collected three doubles and scored three times as the Florida Marlins began a 10-game road trip with a convincing 8-2 victory over Stephen Strasburg and the Washington Nationals.
Wes Helms had two RBIs while Uggla and Gaby Sanchez each scored twice for the Marlins, who have won four of their last five road games.
Strasburg (5-3) returned from a stint on the disabled list due to shoulder stiffness and had his worst - and shortest - performance in the major leagues, allowing six runs and six hits in just 4 1/3 innings.
The 22-year old rookie phenom was not expected to work more than six frames or throw more than 90 pitches, hurled 84 - 51 for strikes.
Uggla began Strasburg's nightmare with a two-run homer in the first inning, his 26th of the season, and added a two-run double in the third for a 4-0 lead. Washington got back a run in the bottom of the third on Helms' fielding error, but Florida's third baseman redeemed himself by capping a three-run fifth with a two-run double.
Gaby Sanchez and Logan Morrison also plated a run apiece for Florida, which has won two straight following a five-game losing streak.
Anibal Sanchez (9-7) benefited from the Marlins' offensive outburst, notching just his second win in seven starts. The 26-year old yielded two unearned runs and five hits over 6 2/3 innings, walking two and striking out seven to improve to 4-0 lifetime against Washington.
Ivan Rodriguez had two hits and scored both runs for the Nationals, who have lost five of seven.
