Marlins 4, Nationals 1

Anibal Sanchez outdueled Jason Marquis and Emilio Bonifacio drove in a pair as the Florida Marlins took down the Washington Nationals, 4-1, on Saturday.

Chad Tracy added two hits and scored a run and Logan Morrison chipped in an RBI for the Marlins, who have taken the first two games of the series.

Sanchez (12-9) bounced back nicely from his worst start of the season earlier in the week, taking a no-hitter into the fifth and finishing with four hits and one run allowed in 7 2/3 innings. It was the second time in two weeks that Sanchez had confounded the Nationals after holding them to three hits in seven scoreless innings on August 31.

Marquis (2-8) matched Sanchez through four hitless frames before running into trouble in the fifth. Tracy and Mike Stanton led off with back-to-back singles and moved up on a passed ball before Cameron Maybin walked to load the bases. Marquis struck out the next two but could not get Bonifacio, who singled to center to drive in two.

Florida added one run in the eighth and another in the ninth to put it away.

Jose Veras came on to record the final out of the eighth and Clay Hensley worked a scoreless ninth for his second save of the season.
