Diamondbacks 5, Rockies 3
Arizona pitcher Joe Saunders gave himself the win with an RBI single in the sixth inning as the Diamondbacks extended their lead in the National League West to seven games with a 5-3 victory over the host Colorado Rockies on Wednesday.
The Diamondbacks tied the game at 3-3 in the sixth on an RBI double by John McDonald, who scored the go-ahead run when Saunders (10-12) drove the first pitch from Kevin Millwood (2-2) to left field.
Saunders, who allowed three runs and seven hits, left with the lead after six innings, and four relievers combined to hold the Rockies to one hit the rest of the way.
Millwood gave up a two-run homer to Miguel Montero in the third but erased half the deficit when he led off the bottom half with his third career home run and his first since 2002.
Carlos Gonzalez added another solo shot with two out in the third to help the Rockies pull even, and Wilin Rosario's first major league home run gave the Rockies a 3-2 advantage in the fourth.
Justin Upton added a solo homer in the seventh for Arizona and Montero extended his hitting streak to 15 games.
