Braves 5, Phillies 4 (12)

Dan Uggla beat out a potential inning-ending double play in the top of the 12th inning to drive in a run from third and help lift visiting Atlanta to its ninth straight win.

After three walks - one intentional - by Jake Diekman (0-2) loaded the bases with one out in the 12th, Uggla hit a grounder to shortstop and beat the relay from second to plate Justin Upton, who had a solo homer and scored three times for the Braves. Luis Avilan (4-0) tossed a scoreless 11th to get the win and Craig Kimbrel survived a leadoff single in the 12th for his 33rd save.

Freddie Freeman had a two-run single and Brandon Beachy allowed four runs - three earned - in 6 1/3 solid innings in his second start back from Tommy John surgery for Atlanta, which remained 11 1/2 games ahead of Washington in the National League East and is one win away from recording its second 10-game run this season.

Jimmy Rollins delivered an RBI double in the bottom of the seventh to forge a 4-4 tie for Philadelphia. John Mayberry Jr. cranked a two-run homer and Chase Utley had an RBI groundout as the Phillies raced to an early 3-0 lead before falling for the 12th time in 13 games.
