Yankees 3, Orioles 2
Nick Swisher hit a two-run home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to lift the New York Yankees to a 3-2 victory over the Baltimore Orioles on Wednesday.
Alex Rodriguez led off the ninth with a single off of closer Koji Uehara. Robinson Cano followed with a fly out to center field before Swisher came up and belted a 2-0 pitch over the wall in left-center to give the Yankees the win.
It was the third walk off home run of Swisher's career and the fourth walk-off win of the season for the Yankees, who snapped a three-game losing skid with the win and wrapped up a 10-game home stand with a 7-3 record.
Joba Chamberlain (3-4) struck out two in the ninth to pick up the win.
Uehara (1-1) gave up two runs and two hits and suffered his first blown save of the season.
Baltimore appeared to be on its way to its first three-game sweep of New York in the Bronx since June of 1986 after a two-run home run by Matt Wieters in the fifth inning.
Wieters got the green light on a 3-0 count and made manager Buck Showalter look like a genius, driving a pitch from Yankees starter Ivan Nova the other way and deep into the seats in left field to put the Orioles ahead, 2-1.
Brett Gardner had an RBI double in the third for New York, which has not had a losing streak of over three games this season.
