Athletics 6, Orioles 4

Josh Willingham’s three-run homer with two outs in the bottom of the fifth inning gave the Oakland Athletics the lead and they went on to beat the visiting Baltimore Orioles 6-4 on Sunday to complete a sweep of the three-game series.

Guillermo Moscoso (2-0) gave up five hits and four runs in five innings to earn the victory. Brian Fuentes pitched the ninth for his 11th save.

The A’s have won five of six to climb back to the .500 mark at 27-27.

With Oakland trailing 4-1, Conor Jackson singled in a run before Willingham hit his ninth homer of the season off Orioles starter Zach Britton. Willingham also had an RBI single in the first inning.

Felix Pie’s RBI single highlighted a four-run fifth inning for Baltimore. Vladimir Guerrero extended his hitting streak to 14 games with an eighth-inning single and J.J. Hardy had two hits for the Orioles.

Britton (5-3) allowed season highs of 10 hits and six runs in 5 2/3 innings. The rookie lefthander has not won since May 1.

Orioles outfielder Adam Jones left the game in the fourth inning with a sore right shoulder.
